Sir Chris Hoy can't guarantee Glasgow 2014 appearance
Sir Chris Hoy admits it would be a dream come true to end his career with Commonwealth Games gold in Scotland, but can't guarantee he will be in Glasgow in 2014.
The 33-year-old - who won treble gold in Beijing - is currently returning to light training after three months out with a hip injury, a problem that ruled him out of the World Championships in March.
Sir Chris does not expect to be at his best until the end of the year, but is looking forward to the World Championships next March and then the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October.
After that, the countdown to 2012 will be well under way and Sir Chris concedes he won't be able to make a decision on the Commonwealths until after the London Games.
"You work in four-year cycles, and you also plan your seasons year by year. Every year there are world championships, so you also have interim goals between Olympic Games," said Sir Chris.
"You plan ahead, you have an ideal scenario, but then you have to see what happens along the way. To finish my career with a Commonwealth Games in Glasgow would be the perfect ending, but it's whether, after London 2012, I'll be 36 then and can go on for two more years.
"All sorts of things can change in a very short space of time. So you have your goals and aims, but you have to wait and see what happens."
