McGlynn waiting to hear wether her partner will accompany her at World Para-Cycling Championships
Paisley's Aileen McGlynn is almost certain to bid for her fourth gold medal at the World Para-Cycling Championships in Manchester, but her partner is as yet undecided.
McGlynn had formed a formidable partnership with pilot Ellen Hunter and the duo has three tandem Paralympic gold medals to their name.
But the 35-year-old took the decision to find a Scottish competitor to team up with at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
And having found Vicky Begg, the pair added pursuit gold to the kilo gold they won on Thursday at the BT Paralympic World Cup.
"It was good preparation for the future to be honest. And it was good to get a couple of races under our belts as a team," said McGlynn.
"There's still a decision to be made as to whether or not we'll compete together at the World Championships.
"It's probably Vicky's decision to be honest. We need to sit down with our coach Chris Furber and think it through and decide if we're ready or not yet - we'll have to see if he thinks we've made good enough progression.
"I'm the old hand now in the GB team. I'm certainly the oldest stalker on the team and it's good to help someone like Vicky through."
McGlynn and Begg were purely racing against the clock in the kilo after Ireland duo Catherine Walsh and Joanna Hickey withdrew from the race.
But Walsh teamed up with Caroline Ryan in the 3000m pursuit, and were just 0.074 seconds behind the Brits' winning time of 3:44.355 minutes, which was mission accomplished for McGlynn.
"It was very tight race out there and we only just pipped them to the line. As we were coming round the last bend I could hear the commentator and I knew they were close," she added.
"It's the very first 3000m race that Vicky and I have done together, we've not done it in training or in race format either so just to get through it one piece was great.
"To have some competition was great though after yesterday. It was a little bit of an anti-climax, having had no-one to race against, it felt a bit strange standing on the podium on our own.
"But we came here with times in mind for the two races and we've achieved those times so we can't ask for more than that."
