Chris Hoy celebrates getting back on the saddle with a win in France
Sir Chris Hoy has made a winning return to action after nearly six months on the sidelines with a hip injury.
The four-time Olympic champion, who missed the World Championships in Poland earlier this year after crashing during a UCI World Cup meeting in Copenhagen, competed at the Fenioux Trophy sprinters' meeting in Hyeres, France.
He was just edged out by French world record holder Kevin Sireau, ironically the rider at fault for his crash in Denmark, in the match sprint final as British team-mate David Daniell claimed third.
But he rebounded to claim a strong Keirin final - one of the three events he won in Beijing 12 months ago - beating Sireau, British team-mate Jason Kenny, Mickaël Bourgain, François Pervis and the German world champion Max Levi with a dominant display.
