Scotland come from behind to retain European crown
In a repeat of last year’s final, David Murdoch’s Scotland team triumphed once again in the European Championships in Sweden.
The Scots got off to a shaky start, going 3-0 down, but eventually prevailed to win 7-6 at the Swedbank Arena in Ornskoldsvik.
After nine ends the Norwegians were leading 6-4 when a dramatic double take-out pulled the scores level before Murdoch’s men took the initiative to go onto win.
"We always had belief but that was a really hard first five ends," Murdoch told the BBC.
"From that point on it was really going to be a grind.
"We thought 'hang in there, hang in there' and we managed to give them some stingers at the end."
Scotland have enjoyed significant success since their first entry into European curling in 2003, accumulating three gold medals, two silvers and a bronze, as well as a gold at the world championships in 2006.
