Scotland's men will square off against Switzerland in the first round play-off of the European Curling Championships in Sweden.
David Murdoch claimed an easy 13-2 against David Smith of Ireland after an earlier 6-5 victory over France.
Germany or Norway await the Scots in the final should they win against the Swiss.
Murdoch said: "We won this twice, we've won silver, we've won bronze. We're here to win and anything else is frankly unacceptable."
Scotland's women weren’t so fortunate, however, as Kelly Wood’s team slumped to seventh in the table following her 9-6 loss to Germany's Andreas Schoepp.
