U-19s fall to Yorkshire

Under 19s defeated by strong Yorkshire side
After suffering at the hands of Heriot's ten days ago in the top flight of the SNCL, on Monday it was the turn of Yorkshire Academy to remind the talented Scottish X1 that they can expect no favours in their bid to ultimately progress to the national senior team set-up.
Though Ewan Chalmers scored 56 and his compatriot Dalgleish 63 runs at the crease to help take Scotland's total to 243 for 8, the English contingent reached 247/4 in 48.1 overs to close out the 1st innings of the 50-overs match.
Next Wednesday (Ireland) and Thursday (New Zealand) it's the turn of Scotland's senior X1 to try and end a ten match barren spell in the ODI LTSB Tri-Series in Aberdeen.
Next week's fixtures will see promising youngsters like Gordon Goudie (West of Scotland) and Quasim Sheikh (Clydesdale) join seasoned internationalists like Ryan Watson (captain), Craig Wright and Fraser Watts in the team to face world ranked no.4 New Zealand and an Ireland X1 currently ranked 10th in the world.
