Cup clash for respective league leaders?
Earlier this week, Cricket Scotland announced the second round draw for the Lloyds TSB Scotland Scottish Cup.
And though rain on Sunday forced the postponement of four 1st round matches, should Premier Division leaders Ayr emerge the victors from their first round match against Forfarshire this Sunday, and First Division leaders Aberdeen from their own fixture against Edinburgh, there's the mouth-watering prospect of the respective league leaders clashing in the second round of the Cup on June 22nd.
Four sides are already through to the second round; Uddingston (v's West Lothian or Falkland), Stenhousemuir (v's Drumpellier or Ferguslie), MGM Prestwick (v's NVT Poloc or McCrea FS West) and Watsonians (v's Heriots or APD Dumfries).
On Sunday, defending champions Greenock will hope to come through unscathed in their rescheduled first round match against Weirs. The winners of that tie will face either RH Corstorphine or Dunfermline in the second round.
Cricket Scotland have also confirmed that the quarter-finals will be played on July 6th, the semi's on August 10th whilst the Cup itself will be decided in the final on Sunday, August 24th.
