Dismal collapse leaves Scotland on the brink of defeat against Ireland
Scotland are staring defeat in the face in Aberdeen after another batting collapse on day three of their Intercontinental Cup clash with Ireland.
Resuming day three 102 for three Irish skipper Will Porterfield quickly set about adding to that total smashing 118 before being removed by Gordon Goudie.
Andrew White chipped in with 55 as Ireland were bowled out for 303 – Goudie the pick of the Scottish attack taking four for 61 on home soil.
Set 298 to win Scotland never got going slipping to 72 for five at the close of play with unbeaten centurion from the first innings Qasim Sheikh removed for 17.
Scotland’s fate lies in the hands of Neil McCallum and Richie Berrington both of whom are 14 not out chasing another 226 to win.
