Skipper Hamilton delighted as Scotland claim long-awaited victory
Scotland skipper Gavin Hamilton breathed a huge sigh of relief after he finally recorded his first win as captain against Kent.
The former Yorkshire all-rounder has had a difficult start to life in charge since taking over from Ryan Watson but had a smile on his face after Fraser Watts guided them to a rain-affected nine-wicket win.
Set a revised target of 77 in 18 overs, Watts cracked a superb 38-ball 45 before Hamilton and Watson took them past the target with more than three overs to spare.
"It's been a long time coming and I wasn't sure it was going to come but we have been getting closer and closer," said Hamilton, who saw his side lose by two runs to Warwickshire last time out.
"We took a big step forward in the Warwickshire game and moved it on again, this win was as good as it gets.
"It was a great all-round performance by the lads but we won't be resting on this now and we have to keep moving forward.
"Winning hasn't been my biggest priority as I just want to see the team moving in the right direction or we will be left behind."
