Greenock back on top

Greenock collate record breaking run total
Defeat to city rivals Carlton at the weekend has seen Grange CC allow west coast club Greenock to regain top spot in the SNCL Premier Division.
Whilst Grange were put to the sword 200 all out by an inspired Carlton X1, across the country, defending champions Greenock stunned Uddingston by rocketing to an unassailable 348 for 4 – a record score in the history of the Premier Division.
Though it was New Zealand's Tim McIntosh who recorded the highest innings with 155, aspiring Saltire Richie Berrington will have done his bid to don the coveted national shirt no harm when he also surpassed a century (118) to help Greenock regain first place in the league.
Craig Wright, captain of Greenock commented: "Yes, the result on Saturday was a good one for us. We've played well over the past few weeks and a couple of the guys have been in really good form."
Unfortunately, 24 hours after savouring success with Greenock, Wright's winning run as coach of the Scotland U-19 squad was abruptly halted as Heriot's defeated the youngsters by 7 wickets.
