Flannigan makes step into big leagues
Last week, www.inthewinningzone.com reported that top order batsman Ryan Flannigan was being chased for his signature by several clubs.
Now, with his opening game of the season just 5 days away, the 20 year-old rising star of Scottish cricket has signed on the dotted line for Watsonians.
The Edinburgh club have been newly promoted to the Premier Division of the Scottish National Cricket League.
Consequently, on leaving First Division Penicuik for the top flight of Scottish domestic cricket, Flannigan may soon find himself in action against both his Scotland U-20 coach, Craig Wright (and captain of Greenock) and the Scotland U-19 squad who will play nine games this season in the SNCL.
The domestic cricket season starts this weekend and will include the Scottish Saltires opening game against Lancashire at The Grange, Edinburgh.
