Cricket Scotland refuse to blast walk-out guy John Blain
Cricket Scotland chief executive Roddy Smith has refused to fan the flames in the fallout of John Blain's decision to walk away from the squad just days before the World Twenty20 Cup.
The opening bowler, who has yet to confirm he has retired from national duty, left the Scotland camp on Saturday evening following a heated row with long-time ally and new captain Gavin Hamilton.
Warwickshire's Calum MacLeod has been given permission by the ICC to replace Blain, who could be adjudged to be in breach of his Cricket Scotland contract by refusing to play, in their 15-man squad.
But Smith said: "It's far too early to say what will happen next. This has only just happened and we are not going to make any rash decisions.
"After a practice match on Saturday there was a team meeting and some harsh words were said and John left the squad.
"He is a grown man so we respect his decision and will move on to prepare for the tournament without him, it was entirely his decision."
