All Scottish final on the cards as Martin and Paul win through to semis
Martin Campbell and Paul Van Rietvelde raised hopes of an all-Scottish final when they both reached the semi-finals of the singles at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India.
Campbell, the Bank of Scotland Scottish Junior Champion, eased through with a 21-16 21-17 victory over New Zealand’s Ethan Haggo, and now meets one of the local favourites, Aditya Prakash.
Van Rietvelde had a tougher match to reach the last four. But he advanced in three games, beating Jamaica’s Gareth Henry 21-13 19-21 21-16.
In the semi-finals, Van Rietvelde also faces one of the Indian players, top seed R-M Gurusaidutt.
