Walsh and Florence off to Beijing
Campbell Walsh and David Florence both booked their place on the British slalom canoe team for this summer's Olympic Games in Beijing at the final round of trials in Nottingham.

With Fiona Pennie already confirmed in the team following the first round of qualifying in Holland it means that there are now three Scots occupying the three available individual berths in the team.

Walsh had a nervous wait in the men's K1 after losing ten seconds missing a gate on his second run. But he did enough to come through ahead of nearest rivals Richard Hounslow and Andrew Hadfield and earn the chance to try an improve on the silver medal that he won four years ago in Athens.

In the men's C1 Florence was in fine form winning his race to secure selection ahead of Stuart McIntosh with who he had been tied at one win a piece in the best of three series.

Tim Baillie could become the fourth Scot to be added to the team if he and English partner Etienne Stott can qualify for Beijing at next month's European Championships. The duo have earned the British nomination after winning their event in Nottingham.
