Scots prepare for World Cup opener

Scottish stars embark upon World Cup circuit
With the Beijing Olympics now just 8 weeks away, this week will see Campbell Walsh, the Scottish K1 slalom specialist continue his preparations for the white-water Olympic course in China as he paddles for gold in a World Cup (20th-in Prague, Czech Republic.
Walsh will be joined in Prague (20th-22nd June) and for what is the first World Cup of the season by fellow Scots and Olympic medal hopefuls, Fiona Pennie (K1) and Aberdeen born David Florence.
Though 10th on the Prague course last year, in 2006 Walsh battled down the Czech white-water to win bronze at the World Championships.
Whatever his result later this week, the reigning European Champion has already stated he'll miss forthcoming World Cup races in Germany and Slovenia as he focuses on his Olympic preparations.
Last week Walsh returned from his first training session in China where he got to grips with what he recently described as 'the big drops' of the technically demanding Olympic course.
