David Florence delighted at being first Brit to take two World Cup titles
Edingburgh's David Florence became the first Briton to win two slalom medals at a major event after claiming a double bronze at the latest World Cup event.
The 26-year-old took third in the C1 (canoe single) class before repeating the trick with partner Richard Hounslow in the C2 (canoe double) in Pau, France.
And the Beijing silver medallist in the C1 was thrilled to rewrite the record books.
"It's a very special feeling to be the first person to win two medals in the slalom at a world cup event," said Florence.
"It's also the first time that I've won a medal in the C2 class and this is only the second time I've competed at this level in this class, it's been a fantastic event for me."
