Change for Walsh

Olympic silver medallist Campbell Walsh will work under a new coach at Great Britain level.

In a change to the GB coaching structure, Walsh - silver medallist in Athens in 2004 - will no longer be working directly with Jurg Gotz.

Shaun Pearce has taken over responsibility of overseeing the GB K1 men.

"It's sad to part company with Jurg, who has been my coach for four of the last five seasons," Walsh stated.

"Jurg has been a real driving force in masterminding my development over this period.

"However, I look forward to the change with fresh input from Shaun, and increased competition from training with the other K1 men more frequently.

"And as he remains head coach of the team, I know Jurg will always be on hand in the future to offer wise advice should I need it!"
