Campbell Walsh just misses out on second medal at World Championships
Scottish kayaking star Campbell Walsh suffered the agony of fourth place at the Canoe Slalom World Championships in La Seu d'Urgell, Spain on Sunday.
The 31-year old, who scooped K1 silver at the 2004 Olympics, picked up K1 team silver on Saturday but only just made it to the final after finishing tenth fastest in the semis.
But a lightning fast time of 94.68 seconds in the final would have earned Walsh silver were it not for a two second time penalty for clipping a gate which pushed the Scot back to fourth.
Fellow Scot and Olympic silver medallist from Beijing last year, David Florence was less competitive in the individual events.
The Aberdeen-born canoer picked up C2 team bronze yesterday but could only manage fifth in the C1 final and tenth with Richard Hounslow in the C2 final.
Lizzie Neave was the only individual medallist for Great Britain as she took bronze in the women?s K1 event. Scotland's Fiona Pennie was 10th in the women's C1 demonstration event.
