Ken Buchanan hints at return to the ring for 'white collar' bouts
Scottish boxing legend Ken Buchanan insists he is willing to make a return to the ring despite turning 64 next month.
The former world lightweight champion, who won the WBA lightweight title in 1970 and became the undisputed world champion a year later, has revealed he is desperately short of cash.
Buchanan has already been sparring at Sparta boxing club in Edinburgh with a view to a white-collar boxing bout.
White-collar boxing has become popular in the last two decades as it allows men and women from white-collar professions to fight at special events.
And Buchanan said: "A lot of people will say I can't get a licence but I don't need one for this.
"I've been talking to the white-collar promoters and they want to hold it in Scotland but I want to go down south.
"We're just talking at the moment but it's something I won't be afraid to go ahead with.
"I've got to do it as it's the only way to make myself some money.
"I know it's stupid but the only way you can make money is to make a comeback."
