Lee McAllister fully focused on job in hand
Aberdeen boxer Lee McAllister has refused to look beyond Friday's fight with Ghana's Godfred Sowah, despite the prospect of a six-figure all Scottish bout with Gary McArthur in the pipeline.
McAllister will fight for the vacant Commonwealth lightweight title in his home city tonight knowing that victory will mean major purses for future bouts.
But McAllister, who weighed in just two ounces under the 9st 9lb limit, is looking no further than tonight's opponent.
He said: "There is only one day that matters for me and that is this one. What happens in the future can be discussed after this fight, but I've seen too many guys in this game look beyond the task at hand and pay the price. I don't intend joining that group.
"It is the biggest fight of my career and I can't wait. Godfred Sowah has flown a long way to get himself knocked out. I am going to bring the Commonwealth title to Aberdeen.
"I have kept my mind strong and I know if I stick to what I do best I can beat anyone in the world."
