Lee McAllister promises big performance in Commonwealth title bout
Boxer Lee McAllister has promised his fans a fight to remember after lining up a shot at the Commonwealth lightweight title next month.
McAllister will fight Godfrey Sowah for the title, vacated by Amir Khan, at Aberdeen's Beach Ballroom on June 19 just five months after losing his British title fight against John Murray.
Sowah was the mandatory challenger to Khan but promoter Tommy Gilmour persuaded the Ghanaian to take McAllister's challenge.
"Tommy's my Santa Claus," said McAllister, who has 28 wins in his 30-bout professional career.
"Christmas has come early for me and it is the best present I could possibly wish for.
"This is the most recognised title fight in Aberdeen ever, I'm here to do the business, put Aberdeen on the map and leave a legacy."
