Alex Arthur returning to the ring with renewed determination
Edinburgh boxer Alex Arthur insists he can become a world champion in a second weight division after stepping up to lightweight.
The 30-year-old, who lost his WBO super-featherweight crown to Nicky Cook last September, will make his bow at the new weight later this month against Frenchman Mohammed Benbiou.
And Arthur admits once he gets Benbiou out of the way he will be chasing another world title bout.
"The main aim is to win the world title and I believe I can do that," said Arthur.
"I should have made up sooner. I had a terrible time making the weight for the Stevie Foster fight and it would have been the smart move to do it after that.
"But I feel great ahead of this fight and I don't feel ring-rusty. The guys I've been sparring with have all commented on how sharp I am, I still feel like a young boy."
