Alex Arthur looking to Khan fight for motivation
Alex Arthur is determined to come back stronger than ever after being given the all-clear to resume training – starting with the undercard of Amir Khan's next world title defence.
The 31-year-old was forced to stop training after concern over the outcome of recent blood results.
But the problem has since been diagnosed as an underactive thyroid gland and the former WBO super-featherweight champion can’t wait to get back in the ring.
He said: “The problem could have been causing my weight problems but now we know what it is it can be safely controlled so I can get training and boxing again.
“My new training regime is going really well so I just need to make sure I make the light-welterweight limit of ten stone to be where I need to be.
“My goal now is to take-up the place reserved for me on the undercard of the Amir Khan fight on December 5 – this will definitely motivate me in my training.”
