Arthur books bout date

Edinburgh's Alex Arthur has finalised the date for his return to action but has revealed he doesn't know who he will face.

Arthur hasn't fought since he lost the world title he inherited from Joan Guzman to England's Nicky Cook on points last September but will box again on June 19 at the Bellahouston Leisure Centre in Glasgow.

Promoter Frank Warren has set the date but the former British, European and WBO super-featherweight champion is anxious to find out his opponent as soon as possible.

"I know it's an eight-round fight on an undercard but I want to know who it will be against so I can start preparing," said Arthur.

"I can't wait to get back into action, it's been a long six months. Boxing is my livelihood and I've not been earning money so I need to get back up to full speed as a lightweight.

"Frank (Warren) has told me that once I get this fight out of the way successfully I won?t be hanging about and I will be boxing again in July.

"I'd like the July fight to be a WBO/WBC or IBF Continental lightweight title fight to get me into contention for a lightweight title."
