Harrison gets two and a half years imprisonment in Spain
Former WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison has been found guilty of attempted theft and assault and has been sentence to two-and-a-half years in prison by a Spanish court.
The 31-year-old from Bellshill, Lanarkshire was arrested by Spanish police at Malaga Airport on Thursday on suspicion of attempting to steal a car and assaulting three men including a policeman in October 2006.
Harrison initially spent five weeks in a Spanish jail after being arrested in Malaga last year but was handed an international arrest warrant after failing to attend court in September.
It isn't the first time Harrison has been in trouble with the law with the Scot jailed in Glasgow last year after admitting drink driving and assault charges and breaching bail conditions.
Harrison served four months of an eight month sentence and has been trying to clear his name in a bid to get his boxing licence back.
Alcohol and drug abuse have followed Harrison in recent years and in 2006 he was declared bankrupt and striped of his WBO title and boxing licence.
