Scotland bid to win promotion from the "C" Division of the European Championships in Edinburgh this week.

The Scots face Wales, Andorra and Malta in their opening group and need to win two out of three to assure themselves a place in the semi-finals.

Andorra laid the marker down for the group with a 78-52 opening win over Wales and Scotland will start as favourites for their first match against the Welsh.

The Scots are hoping the basketball public will turn out in numbers to get behind their bid to reach the "B" Division.

In the other group, also played in Edinburgh, Moldova, San Marino, Gibraltar and Azerbaijan fight it out.
