Scottish Rocks claim second win of the season as Sapp stars
A virtuoso performance from Jessie Sapp led Glasgow Rocks to their second win of the season at Worcester Wolves.
The Rocks bounced back from last weekend’s last-second defeat to Worthing Thunder with Sapp returning a 28-point haul in a 93-87 win.
The victory moves the Scottish outfit up to joint-fifth in the BBL Championship table but the Wolves, who are still searching for their first points of the season, made Sterling Davis’ charges fight all the way.
The Rocks took the initiative in the first quarter to lead 24-17 but a determined Worcester side overturned the deficit and would’ve been leading at half-time until a late Sapp three-pointer levelled the score at 40-40.
But Glasgow stepped up a gear in the third and fourth quarters and established an early lead which they maintained to the final buzzer.
