Two defeats for Bankier and Blair

Bankier and Blair suffer two defeats in quick succession as Super Series Masters
Glasgow’s Imogen Bankier and Edinburgh-born Robert Blair, the No.4 seeds, suffered two opening day defeats at the World Super Series Masters Finals in Malaysia.
In the round-robin format, Bankier and Blair, last year’s Bank of Scotland International Champions, lost the first match by a crushing 9-21 7-21 margin to the Indonesian top seeds, Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir.
They British pair put up a better show against Thailand’s Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthomkan, but eventually lost a really close match 12-21 21-14 22-24.
The final group match is against Indonesia’s No.7 seeds, Flandy Limpele and Vita Marissa.
