Summer over - season begins

Following a long summer's training, Susan Hughes, Jillie Cooper and Watson Briggs are among the Scots set to launch the new season at the Belgian International Open.

At one time, Susan had been hoping to have spent the last couple of weeks at the Olympic Games in Beijing - but now she hopes that Berchem will mark the lunch of a four year campaign to make it to London 2012.

"It's been a really hard summer, and now I have to prove that the hard work has paid off," said Susan.

Jillie, 20, is at the start of an exciting period in her career. She is going to be spending more time at the National Centre at Milton Keynes this season where she will get the chance to practise with the top British players.

Jillie and Watson are currently ranked No.47 in the world in mixed doubles - there target this year is to win a title and they would love to start in Belgium.
