Scotland's Andrew Bowman and England's Matthew Honey made a confident start to the Spanish Open in Madrid with a 21-13 21-18 win over Patrick Neubacher and Tim Zander in the first round of the men's doubles.

Scotland's top singles Susan Hughes was a late withdrawal. The Commonwealth Games medallist is suffering from back trouble - but she is still in the draw for next week's Toulouse Open.
