
Scots miss out at Swiss

Bankier and Blair suffer Swiss drop-out
Following the disappointment of going out in the second round of the Yonex All-England Open in Birmingham last week, Glasgow’s Imogen Bankier and Edinburgh-born Robert Blair suffered another blow with a first round exit at the Swiss Open Super Series in Basel.
Bankier and Blair, the No.6 seeds, took the opening game, but then slipped to a 21-19 20-22 13-21 defeat in the mixed doubles from Taiwan’s Yu Hsin Hsieh and Yu Chin Chien.
In he women’s singles, Glasgow’s Susan Hughes also went out in the first round. The Scottish Champion lost 12-21 19-21 to the Chinese-born Dutch player, Jie Yao.
