Scottish interest in Denmark Super Series comes to an end
Scotland’s Emma Mason and England’s Heather Olver lost out to a top Chinese couple in the second round of the women’s doubles at the Denmark Open Super Series in Odense.
Pan Pan and Yawen Zhang, the No.6 seeds, secured the place in the quarter-finals with a 21-16 21-7 victory over the British pair who are playing together for a first time this season.
Last week, Mason and Olver reached the last eight of the Dutch Open and they will be among the favourites for the Bank of Scotland Scottish International Championship at Glasgow’s Kelvin Hall next month.
Scottish interest then came to an end when Edinburgh’s Jillie Cooper and England’s Mariana Agathangelou, the Bank of Scotland International Champions, lost in straight games 13-21 12-21 to Bulgaria’s Petya Nedelcheva and Russian Anastasia Russkikh.
