Scotland and England to face off for UK School Games gold
Scotland will square off against the Auld Enemy for UK School Games glory after victories against Wales and Northern Ireland in Cardiff.
Having cruised to an emphatic 4-1 victory over Northern Ireland, Scotland clinched a hard-fought 3-2 win over Wales, courtesy of a superb mixed doubles performance from Kilmarnock's Lewis Gallacher and Glasgow's Caitlin Pringle.
England also eased to victory over Northern Ireland, but came unstuck against Wales, going down 3-2 to the hosts.
That means all Scotland have to do to lift the crown is clinch victory over England, while a 3-2 defeat would result in a three-way tie between Scotland, England and Wales.
The individual events get underway on Saturday as Scotland bid to improve on their haul of six medal, a gold, two silver and three bronze, from last year.
Kirsty Gilmour will also be bidding to retain her doubles title and upgrade her 2008 individual silver to gold.
