Campbell victory not enough to save Scots in India
Scotland suffered disappointing defeats from both France and Indonesia and finished bottom of Group X2 at the World Junior Championships in Pune, India.
Martin Campbell, a bronze medallist at this month’s Commonwealth Youth Games, won the singles against France, but couldn’t prevent Scotland sliding to a 4-1 defeat.
The Scots failed to win a point in the tie against group favourites, Indonesia, who had earlier beaten France by the same 5-0 scoreline. Scotland now meet the Czech Republic in the first round of play-offs.
