Bankier and Blair defeated, but gain rise in ranking

Glasgow's Imogen Bankier and England's Robert Blair went out 9-21 14-21 in the quarter-finals to China's world No.5 pair of Zhongbo Xie and Yawen Zheng at yesterday's Thailan Open Grand Prix in Bangkok.
But the British pair did have reason to celebrate. In just over a year as a mixed doubles partnership, Bankier and Blair, who won the Bank of Scotland Centenary Championships in Glasgow last November, have risen to a career high of No.14 in the world.
