

Gilmour stars as Scots sweep six medals at UK School Games
Bothwell's Kirsty Gilmour was the star performer as Scotland's badminton players claimed six medals at the UK Schools' Games in Bristol.
Gilmour claimed gold n the doubles with Kirsty McGlynn (Greenock) and added a silver medal in the girl's singles to underline her standing as one of Scotland's brightest young talents.
In the singles final, Gilmour, the Bank of Scotland Scottish Under-17 Champion, took the opening game against Emily Westwood, but eventually lost 21-13 10-21 17-21 to her English opponent.
But there was a turnaround in the doubles with the two Kirstys falling a game behind before hitting back to defeat England's Sinead Chambers and Ruth Doddis 18-21 21-14 21-14.
Scotland added a second silver medal in the boys' doubles with Patrick Machugh (Kinross) and Craig Morrison (Motherwell) reaching the final before going down 21-16 14-21 19-21 to England's Sam Dobson and Steven Cappleman.
Another three Scottish couples reached semi-finals to earn bronze medals - Morrison and Emma Gallacher (Wishaw) in the mixed doubles, Craig Pollock (Longniddry) and Michael Campbell (Edinburgh) in the boys' doubles and Gallacher and Fiona Archibald (Larkhall) in the girls' doubles.
