

Top schools set to battle it out at Bank of Scotland Challenge
Nine schools from the original massive entry of 160 have survived the regional qualifying rounds to reach the final of badminton's Bank of Scotland Primary Sportshall Challenge at the Bell's Sports Centre in Perth.
The team to beat in the final will be Glasgow's Battlefield, who will be chasing a title hat-trick. Fife's Donibristle Primary, from Dalgety Bay, were runners-up last year, but Fife’s representative this year is Townhill.
Some 1,500 boys and girls competed in this year's event as the Bank of Scotland Primary Sportshall Challenge grows in popularity.
Scotland internationalist and National champion Gordon Thomson, who is a sporting Ambassador for Bank of Scotland, said: "The Primary Sporthall Challenge is a great way of introducing youngsters to our sport. Maybe one or two will go on to become Scotland players.”
