Cooper and Hughes are French seeds

Edinburgh's Jillie Cooper reached her first European circuit final at last week's Spanish Open - and she is hoping to build on her success in the women's
doubles with Belgium's Nathalie Descamps at the Volant D'Or Toulouse Open in France.

But Cooper and Descamps have received scant reward for last week's great effort. They have been drawn to meet the French top seeds, Elodie Eymard and Weny Rahmawati, in the first round.

But there is better fortune for Jillie and Renfrew's Watson Briggs in the mixed doubles in this final tournament of the season. They are seeded No.3 in the mixed and enjoy the luxury of a first round bye.

Scotland's Susan Hughes missed last week's Spanish Open with a back injury - but she returns to action as the No.3 seed in the women's singles.

"My back completely seized up going for a shot in training and I could hardly move," explained the Commonwealth Games medallist. "But it's been a quick recovery and I'm looking forward, hopefully, to a good end to the season.

"I've got a decent draw (she opens against England's Sarah Walker) and I'm just going to try and put up a good show."
