Casey tastes defeat to home favourite in St Petersburg
The roaming Scot, Alistair Casey, suffered defeat in a tight three set match to Russian Nikolay Ukk in the second round of the 2009 White Night International in St Petersburg.
Seeded No.4, the Glasgow player, who travels all over the world in search of competition, won the first end 21-19, but ended up suffering a 21-12 21-12 reverse in the final two sets. In the first round, Casey beat another Russian player, Vyachelav Turchak, 21-0 21-3.
He will now travel down under to compete in the Australian Open from 23-26 July.
