Bankier and Blair stumble

Scot Imogen Bankier and England's Robert Blair were the only British players in the last eight, but they couldn't make the semi-finals and lost 14-21 17-21 to Denmark's Thomas Laybourn and Kamilla Rytter Juhl in yesterday's mixed doubles at the Djarum Indonesia Super Series in Jakarta.

Bankier and Blair were seeded No.7  - three places lower than their Danish opponents - but they did raise hopes of at least taking the match to a third end when they led 11-9 at the interval in the second game.

But the world No.9 couple hit back to take the next three points in a row and regained control.

Next week, Bankier and Blair, currently ranked No. 18 in the world, go on to compete as the No.6 seeds in the Thailand Open in Bangkok.
