Bankier and Blair progress

Glasgow's Imogen Bankier and Edinburgh-born Robert Blair cruised into the last 16 of the mixed doubles at the Thailand Open Grand Prix with a 21-19 21-14 victory over Indonesia's Devn Lahardi Fitriawan and Lita Nurlita.

It was a tight opening game for Bankier and Blair, but the No.6 seeds were never troubled in the second. They won the first four points and closed out the match in just 26 minutes.

In the last 16, Bankier and Blair now have a repeat tie against Malaysia's Mohd Razif Abdul Latif and Sook Chin Chong. They met at the same stage in last week's Indonesian Super Series and the British pair scored a comfortable victory.

In the first round, Latif and Chong were forced to three games, but came through 21-18 20-22 21-10 against Indonesia's Lingga Lie and Devi Tika Permatasari.
