Bankier and Blair bow out in semis

Final spot a bridge too far for Bankier and Blair
Scotland’s Imogen Bankier and Ednburgh-born Robert Blair, the No. 6 seeds, missed out on a first Super Series final when they lost 14-21 17-21 to home favourites Thomas Laybourn and Kamilla Rytter Juhl at the Danish Open in Odense.
The British pair, currently ranked No.12 in the world, had not dropped a game on the way to the mixed doubles semi-finals, but they more than met their match in a pair now tipped to win the title.
Next week, Bankier and Blair are also seeded No.6 for the Super Series event in France.
