Badminton Scotland name under-15 Quadrangular squad

Badminton Scotland have named a ten-strong team in a bid to claim under-15 Quadrangular International glory in Dublin this weekend.

Head coaches Karen Stalker and Bill Hogg will be looking to improve on last year's performance that saw Scotland finish a close second to England, with Bothwell's Kirsty Gilmour picking up the girls' singles title.

Prestwick's Josh Neil, 13, heads into the tournament full of confidence having reached the quarter finals of the Bank of Scotland under-17 National Championships.

Neil has already highlighted his growing potential this season, claiming the under-15 national mixed doubles crown along with Glasgow?s Heather Campbell, who is also in the squad.

"It's great to see some of the younger players pushing their way into the squad," said Stalker. "A lot of these players did well at last weekend's Bank of Scotland National Junior Championships and I look forward to seeing them perform in the Quadrangular in Dublin."

Also named in the squad is 15-year-old Rebekka Findlay, who reached the under-17 semi finals last weekend before being knocked out Gilmour.

Scottish under-15 boys' doubles champions Jordan Gilvear and Stewart Ferns, as well as under-15 girls' champions Hannah Laing and Megan Richardson are also included, as are Caitlin Gilmour, Calvin Percival and Ben Torrance.
