Frank Dick appointed as temporary Chair of coaching association
One of Britain's leading authorities on athletics coaching, Dr Frank Dick OBE, has been placed in temporary charge of the newly-formed Association of Scottish Athletics Coaches.
Under his watch as Chairman of the British Olympic Coaches Advisory Programme, Dick helped guide likes of Seb Coe, Steve Ovett, Daley Thompson and Linford Christie to Olympic gold.
Dick has also held the prestigious posts as President of the European Athletics Coaches Association and Chairman of the International Association of Athletics Federations Academy and is looking forward to the challenge of making his mark on Scottish Athletics.
He said: "I believe it is fundamental to the future of excellence in the Scottish athletics arena that coaches take ownership of their own development, that they make the right decisions to create that future and that they something about it now.
"I am convinced that the Association of Scottish Athletics Coaches does just that and I am delighted to act as Chair during these early stages."
