Beth Potter vows to come back stronger at World Junior Championships
Middle distance starlet Beth Potter is determined to get over her European Junior Championships disappointment by winning a medal in next year’s World Juniors.
The 18-year-old suffered the heartache of tripping while in a medal position in her 3000m final in Novi-Sad, eventually finishing in an agonising fifth place.
But the Victoria Park youngster insists she is stronger from her misfortune and has set her sights on winning a major medal sooner rather than later.
Potter, who is part of the UKA Heroes initiative sponsored by Original Source, said: “It was a major blow out in Serbia, but I genuinely think I’m stronger because of it.
“It has made me even more determined to win a major medal and that’s what I’ll be working hard to do during the winter.
“I’ll be doing a fair bit of cross country and then I will put all more attention into getting onto the podium at the World Juniors in Canada.”
