Beth Potter selected in GB squad for European Junior Championships
Middle distance runner Beth Potter has been selected as part of a 64-strong British team heading to the European Junior Championships in Serbia next week.
The 17-year-old - from Bearsden - convincingly booked her place on the plane to Novi Sad at last month's England Under-20 Championships storming to 3000m gold, 12 seconds inside the qualifying standard.
Potter, whose time of 9:17.59minutes in Bedford was less than two seconds away from her personal best, is no stranger to international competition having made her GB debut at the World Youth Championships in 2007.
The Victoria Park City of Glasgow AC member also represented Scotland at last year's Commonwealth Youth Games where she finished fifth and sixth in the 1500m and 3000m respectively.
Last month Potter was handpicked as one of 15 up-and-coming athletes for the UKA Heroes Project and will be joined in Serbia by fellow Scots Jenny Tan, Josephine Moultrie and Nicola Hood.
