Freya Murray does it again after winning Great Capital Run
Edinburgh's Freya Murray continued her sublime end-of-season form as she romped to success in the Great Capital 5000m Run in Regent's Park, London.
The 25-year old recorded her second best 5000m time of 15:41 minutes to claim victory ahead of Australian Benita Willis and fellow Brit Helen Clitheroe.
It looked for all the world like Willis would take gold after the former world cross country champion raced away from the rest of the field around the 4000m mark.
But Murray, fresh from her shock victory in the Great Yorkshire Run last week, dug deep and reeled in the Australian, eventually overhauling her in the last 300m.
And the Scot insisted she thought Willis had the race in the bag as they approached the last kilometre.
"I'm absolutely delighted - it's a great feeling to win again," said Murray.
"Benita had established a significant gap and it looked like she had the race won."
"But I realised the gap wasn't widening so I dug in and gradually managed to haul her in."
