Lawrence Tynes' hopes of winning another Super Bowl ring this season ended as New York Giants crashed 41-9 at home to Carolina Panthers.
With Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers both winning, it squeezed the Giants out of the play-offs.
Greenock-born Tynes made a 40-yard field goal in the third quarter to take his season's tally to 125 points.
That equals his personal record set with Kansas City Chiefs and he has the chance to beat it against Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
