Tynes on the table for knee operation
Scottish kicker Lawrence Tynes has undergone a minor operation on his left knee as he bids to be fit for the new season.
The Greenock-born player missed his second pre-season game as his New York Giants went down 10-7 to New York Jets at the weekend.
He injured his knee a fortnight ago after slipping on wet grass and faces a race to be fit in time for the season's kick-off on September 4.
The Giants have revealed Tynes had an exploratory arthroscopic procedure on his left knee, which revealed no structural damage.
He will continue to rehab the injury in the hope of making the first match against Washington Redksins.
Josh Huston has deputised for the last two pre-season matches and may be kept on.
