Tynes has time in his hands as Giants stick with Carney
New York Giants' head coach Tom Coughlin has told Scottish kicker Lawrence Tynes to be patient and he will get his chance.
Tynes, who has recovered from a knee injury, has been kept out of the Giants team by 44 year-old John Carney and has not played this season.
The Giants are likely to stick with Carney for this weekend's clash with Dallas Cowboys and Coughlin says he can understand Tynes' frustration.
"We continuously talk to Lawrence and I think he is very much aware of how we are trying to do this and I think that he understands it," he said.
"I am sure he doesn’t like it, he is a competitor, why would he? But at the same token, he is a member of the team and does as good a job as he can to understand the circumstance."
